Its a question that pops up every time I meet customers at large events. What should I use? Is it not going to be expensive? Which mailing solution should I use? Questions are many?
My advise to small customers is :-
1. Please consider open technologies. Linux is a good choice. Choose applications that can be moved across platforms.
2. Evaluate and choose light applications. Just right for your need(Buy a 1500 Rupees phone if all that you will do is speak and listen and not a fancy 8000 Rupees one with camera and blue tooth).
3. Opt for used machines. You can strike a bargain with companies and also get warranties covered at a very low price.
4. Consolidate and centralize.
5. Host at third party data-centers
